Otago Girls’ High School is your school. Here there is a place for everyone and all students enjoy success and a wonderful school life. We provide unparalleled subject choice and opportunities in a progressive school with a rich history. A maximum class size of 26 in Year 9 ensures a welcoming transition to high school. 

Come and see what we do - our Open Night is on Tuesday 30th July with sessions at 5pm and 6pm. We also welcome school tours during school hours at any time. 

Year 9 enrolments for the 2025 school year should be completed online, handed into the school office or emailed to sw@otagogirls.school.nz no later than 4pm on Thursday 22nd August 2024. Because of our central city location, we have around 100 out-of-zone places each year and all students on a waiting list have been accepted in recent years.

There are eight Year 9 Excellence Entrance Scholarships available by application, with a further eight Year 9 Scholarships awarded by staff nomination mid-2025. There are 16 scholarships in total, covering a combination of Excellence in the fields of Academia, Arts and Culture, Sport and Leadership. Excellence Entrance Scholarship applications must be submitted by 4pm Thursday 15th August.
