Founded in 1871, Otago Girls' High School was the first public girls' school in the Southern Hemisphere. We are proud of the graduates of our traditional school. Among our graduates are New Zealand's first female lawyer, medical graduate, medical practitioner, Olympic gold medalist and New Zealand's first female High Court judge. She also has eight graduates who have competed in the Olympics.

From grades 9 to 13, our school has 820 students, including 40 international students. International students are accepted year-round, at all grade levels.

The school is world-renowned for its first-class education and proven cultural and sporting activities. Otago Girls' High School has long served the needs of international students and is one of New Zealand's premier schools.
