PTSA

Parent Teachers' Student Association (PTSA)

The P.T.S.A. forms an important part of the Otago Girls' High School Community and generally meets at 6:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month in the School Library. The meetings are an opportunity for parents to hear first hand from the Principal, Board, Staff and Student representatives what is happening in the School. They are also an opportunity to ask questions of the Principal and to get to know other parents who are keen to have input into their daughter's school.

We often have a guest speaker prior to our meetings followed by the meeting itself. At least a couple of our meetings each year are based around a social outing.

The majority of our funds come from P.T.S.A. parent donations at the beginning of each year and a school fair (organised by a separate fair committee) every second year. The P.T.S.A. accepts grant applications from various individuals and groups within the School and these applications are considered at our monthly meetings.

Another integral part of the P.T.S.A.'s role is to assist at school functions such as junior dances, formals, and functions held at the school. Our support is always very much appreciated by the School itself and the P.T.S.A. helpers really feel part of the events.

Our current office holders are Kellea Williams (President), Jules Wilson (Secretary), Antoinette McLean and Rachal Watts (Co Treasurers). Our staff representative is Sue Watt, and our student representative is Danielle Milne.

Please feel very welcome to attend our next meeting and ring the school office on 474-0496 for confirmation of the dates.
